A tooth that can’t be saved, handled gently.
  • Fully numbed, gentle care
  • We accept most PPO plans
  • Same-day visits for severe pain

Comfortable from start to finish

The tooth and area around it are fully numbed, so you feel pressure, not pain. We take our time and keep you at ease.

A plan for what’s next

Losing a tooth is fixable. We walk you through replacing it so your bite and smile stay whole.

Cost in writing first

We verify your PPO benefits and give you your cost in writing before anything happens.

When it’s needed

When does a tooth need to be extracted?

Extraction is the last step we reach for, not the first. Whenever a tooth can be saved, we try, often with a filling, a crown or a root canal.

Only an exam and X-ray can tell for sure. If there’s a realistic way to keep your tooth, we’ll tell you. If not, we’ll explain why and make the extraction straightforward.

Common reasons

  • Severe decay or infection Too damaged to restore
  • Cracked below the gumline Not enough structure to rebuild
  • Advanced gum disease Tooth loosened from the bone
  • Crowding Sometimes part of orthodontic treatment
What to expect

The extraction process

Book your visit

Book online or call (702) 363-0444. Tell us if the tooth is painful or swollen and we’ll do our best to see you the same day.

Exam and plan

We examine the tooth, take an X-ray, confirm whether it can be saved, verify your PPO benefits, and give you the full cost in writing.

Gentle removal

We numb the area completely, then remove the tooth. A tooth broken at the gumline or partly covered may need a surgical extraction.

Aftercare

You leave with written aftercare and a number to call. Stick to soft foods, avoid straws and smoking, and call us if pain gets worse after a few days.

Replacing the tooth

What are my options to replace the tooth?

Replacing a missing tooth keeps your bite working and stops neighboring teeth from drifting into the gap.

FAQ

Tooth extraction questions

Does a tooth extraction hurt?
The area is fully numbed before we start, so you’ll feel pressure and movement but not pain. Some soreness for a day or two afterward is normal and manageable with the guidance we give you.
How much does a tooth extraction cost?
A simple extraction typically runs around $250 and a surgical extraction around $350, depending on the tooth (2026 fee schedule). Most PPO plans cover a portion, and we give you your cost in writing before treatment.
How long does it take to heal?
Most initial healing happens in the first few days, and the soft tissue closes over the following couple of weeks. We’ll give you simple aftercare steps.
What can I eat after an extraction?
Start with soft foods like yogurt, soup and smoothies (no straws), and ease back to your normal diet as the area heals.
Should I replace the tooth right away?
Not the same day, but it’s worth planning early. Replacing a missing tooth protects your bite and keeps nearby teeth from shifting.
What if I’m in pain right now?
If a tooth is causing severe pain or swelling, call (702) 363-0444 right away and we’ll do our best to see you the same day.
